Bubbles Away Comes to Life

I had no idea the adventure I had embarked upon when I committed to publish Bubbles Away. It truly has been a life long dream to publish one of my stories. After our youngest graduated from high school I came back to my writing. I began again to dream of one day. I began to pray “God if you want this to happen you must show me the way.” Then I met Erica Sorg. Erica and I began our relationship as friends from church. As I got to know her I realized she was given an amazing talent as an artist. The more I saw her work the more I realized I wanted her to illustrate Bubbles Away. I wanted it to have that dreamy beauty that watercolor is so known to create. So I prayed “God if Erica is the one to illustrate this book please let her have the same idea I have for the last page. Then I will know that she is who you want to illustrate it and I will step out in faith and begin this process.” Well, guess what ? She had the same vision for the last page as I did! Wow Lord was all I could say. Now three years, yes you read that right three years later we are ready to launch Bubbles Away. Through illustrations being created, to editing, to graphic design work and finally a publishing partner at Westbow we are ready! I truly hope you enjoy the illustrations as much as I do!

I used to teach an elementary homeschool art class, so I have to challenge you to try your hand at watercolor. It is a most relaxing pastime. One of my favorites ways to not have to think and just enjoy painting is by using Emily Lex Studio watercolor workbooks. They are brilliantly done, have instructions, easy for any age and so many fun themes to pick from. I am currently painting in the Birds workbook that my sister gave me for my birthday.
